COVID-19 Updates

Redwood Park Church started the process of re-opening our building and programs in stages. We have been following government protocols in order to make sure that we don’t just keep our church safe, but the entire community of Thunder Bay. We’ve had to adjust to changing government guidelines as medical professionals learn more about COVID-19, sometimes on a weekly basis. It has been an incredible season of learning and re-training for the staff and our volunteers. Our mission has not changed, we've simply adapted to move forward in a manner that is safe, effective, and better suited to meet the growing needs of our community.

Update (May 2021): We are currently in a Stay At Home Lockdown. We are unable to meet in person, which places us in Stage 1 (see below). All of our in-person programs and services are suspended until restrictions lift. We continue to have an online streamed service every Sunday at 10:30am.

  • Stage 1: Church Online

    Our Current Stage

    • Full closure of the building
    • Staff working remotely
    • Virtual Sunday service and programming
  • Stage 2: Church Online & Limited Controlled Services

    • Partial building re-opening: Inviting guests for Sunday morning services as we train staff and volunteers in safety procedures. An increase in capacity every week to reach our current capacity limit set out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
    • Some Sunday & mid-week programs resumed: Courses, small groups, mid-week programs for students grades 4-12, Food Bank, and Women’s Bible Study.
  • Stage 3: Church Online & Two Open Sunday Services

    • Services are open to our entire church community with capacity limits in place.
    • Guests need to pre-register using Church Center App, which can be downloaded on any mobile device.
    • Registration for each Sunday will open the Monday before.
    • We ask that you consider registering for only a few services every month to allow more people to experience an in-person gathering. If we see that we have more space open, or that more people want to come than the space we have, we will adjust the registration and get in touch with you.
  • Stage 4: Increase in Mid-week Opportunities for Growth, Connection, & Services

    • Will include options for families with young children
  • Stage 5: Full Re-Opening

    • Restrictions lifted
    • Building open at full capacity on Sundays and throughout the week for all programs and events
