Standing Together

Dear Redwood Family,

The leadership at Redwood is aware of allegations of criminal misconduct by our former staff member, Paul Ireland. We have satisfied ourselves that the individuals who have come forward to share their personal stories are credible and deem them to be trustworthy.

At this time, we are still waiting for more information to be made available from the police regarding the scope and scale of these allegations in their ongoing investigation.

We deem the nature of these allegations to be significant enough that we are urging parents of young men who were a part of our student ministries during the time when Paul was working at Redwood to talk with their children about any behaviour involving inappropriate or sexual misconduct they may have experienced.

This behaviour in no way reflects our beliefs and convictions of what it means to be a spiritual leader in our church community. We wish to extend whatever support we can to those affected by this. Please know that we are here for you and we are standing with you.

Out of respect to those personally affected by this who call Redwood home, we will not be holding a memorial service facilitated by Redwood’s leadership.

We recognize that there are many in our church family who are experiencing grief, anger, and confusion. We share these hurts as well and are with you as we walk in this together. More than ever we need to be offering support to one another as we hold on to our hope that God is good and His love for us is greater than today’s darkness.

If you need to talk with us, you can reach us at office@redwoodpark.org or (807) 577-3463.
